Dentro de este conjunto se distingue un 8,1% de hogares por debajo de la línea de indigencia (LI), que incluyen al 10,5% de las personas. Esto implica que, para el universo de los 31 aglomerados urbanos de la EPH, por debajo de la LP se encuentran 2.849.755 hogares que incluyen a 11.680.575 personas y, dentro de ese conjunto, 754.155 hogares se encuentran por debajo de la LI, e incluyen a 2.995.878 personas indigentes.
Con respecto al segundo semestre de 2019, los indicadores mostraron un aumento de la pobreza (+5,4 p.p.) y un aumento de la indigencia (+2,5 p.p.) para el conjunto de la población cubierta por la encuesta.
El ingreso total familiar promedio de los hogares pobres fue de $25.759, mientras la CBT promedio del mismo grupo de hogares alcanzó los $43.785, por lo que la brecha se ubicó en 41,2%, el valor más alto de la serie por cuarto semestre consecutivo (cuadro 2.2). De esta manera, no solo hubo un aumento en la incidencia de pobreza respecto del segundo semestre de 2019, sino que la situación de las personas bajo la LP empeoró por la mayor distancia entre sus ingresos y la CBT.
