SIGUEN DÁNDOSE PASOS DE APOYO A FAMILIAS AGRÍCOLAS LOCALES Y EMPIEZA A SEMBRARSE FUTURO EN MERENDEROS Y COMEDORES
Está en marcha el programa de “Fortalecimiento de la producción agroecológica para el abastecimiento local”, que lleva adelante la gestión del intendente Alfredo Francolini a través de la Secretaría de Desarrollo Social y Producción.
FINANCIAMIENTO A HORTICULTORES Y AVICULTORES
Concretamente, se invierten $3.250.593 para financiar, en esta primera etapa, a 16 familias productoras del Departamento Concordia (13 de las cuales se dedican a la horticultura y otras 3 a la avicultura).
“Reciben el apoyo y financiamiento para la compra de insumos y herramientas para la producción agroecológica tanto para la producción hortícola como para la compra de alimentos necesarios para la cría de gallinas para la producción de huevo y carne de pollos de campo”, precisó Fernando Barboza, secretario de Desarrollo Social y Producción de la Municipalidad de Concordia.
Específicamente, las trece unidades productivas familiares dedicadas a la producción hortícola obtuvieron, con el financiamiento del proyecto presentado, lo siguiente: rollos de polietileno, media sombra, postes para reconstrucción y levantamiento de estructuras para invernaderos y umbráculos, mochilas pulverizadoras, cinta de riego, plantines de diversas especies (acelga, lechuga, cebolla de verdeo).
Esto redundó en un incremento de 5 mil metros cuadrados de la superficie destinada a la horticultura. A modo de ejemplo, cabe destacar que la producción de hortalizas (comúnmente lechuga, acelga, cebolla de verdeo) bajo cubierta, con dicho proyecto aumentaría en 30 mil kilos anuales, en promedio bruto, dependiendo el cultivo.
Además, en el Departamento Concordia es posible encontrar otras hortalizas de hoja como la rúcula, berro, achicoria, espinaca, repollo, perejil, apio y plantas aromáticas, como albahaca, orégano y también se producen zapallitos de tronco, zapallo coreano y otras variedades comerciales.
Existen alrededor de 60 familias dedicadas a la producción hortícola. “En los últimos 3 años se han sumado muchos jóvenes, algunos hijos de productores, a los que vamos a seguir apoyando porque ahí está el futuro, la posibilidad concreta de que las nuevas generaciones accedan a productos frescos, naturales y amigables con el ambiente”, destacó Barboza.
HUERTAS BARRIALES
Con el objetivo de fortalecer la agricultura familiar e incentivar la alimentación saludable con la creación de huertas orgánicas el equipo técnico de la Dirección de Economía participó en el programa “Huertas Barriales”. Esta propuesta es una iniciativa que impulsa la creación de huertas orgánicas en las zonas más vulnerables de la ciudad.
“Entendemos a las huertas barriales como una forma de fomentar los lazos sociales de la comunidad y como una manera de generar conciencia sobre el uso responsable del suelo. En este sentido, estamos trabajando por pedido del Intendente Alfredo Francolini en diferentes barrios en una iniciativa que impulsa la creación de huertas orgánicas en las zonas más vulnerables de la ciudad”, mencionó el secretario de Desarrollo Social y Producción.
Además de asistir a las familias con los elementos necesarios para crear sus propias huertas, también desde el municipio se les brinda una capacitación en la que se detalla cuáles son los tipos de siembra, las formas de riego y cómo se lleva a cabo el trabajo con en el suelo.
“Los vecinos y las vecinas nos comentaron que están muy entusiasmados con el proyecto y que los alimentos producidos serán destinados al comedor del barrio. Desde nuestra parte seguimos acompañamos con programas y gestiones a los pequeños productores para garantizar alimentos saludables y más oportunidades para todos”, afirmó Barboza.
SEMBRANDO FUTURO
En el mismo sentido, está en marcha el programa “Sembrando Futuro” por el que se entregará un kit de semillas de huerta y se brindará asesoramiento para poder llevar a cabo y sostener en el tiempo la siembra correspondiente, a fines de consumo propio o emprendedurismo. Barboza afirmó que, “frente a la emergencia alimentaria actual, Sembrando futuro es una indiscutible herramienta de promoción de derechos”.
La primera etapa comenzó a desarrollarse en los merenderos y comedores de la ciudad, la elección surgió luego de implementar el programa “Corazones Saludables” en el que se realizaron capacitaciones a los responsables de cada institución sobre educación alimentaria.
En síntesis, se promoverá el acceso a los alimentos saludables a través de la producción agroecológica y las huertas familiares. “Sembrando Futuro” está dirigido especialmente a quienes asistan a los comedores y merenderos para que reciban ayuda social y que se sientan interpelados a participar de la propuesta.
“El desafío es alcanzar seguridad y soberanía alimentaria. Para lograrlo, se desarrollarán diferentes acciones: impulso de huertas agroecológicas junto a familias, instituciones o espacios comunitarios, asistencia técnica y capacitación, apoyo a la comercialización a través de mercados y ferias populares, educación alimentaria y ambiental”, concluyó el Secretario de Desarrollo Social y Producción.
